It's cold and I'm sore and
I got my PC shipped out to #2 son. Bit pricey, though. Cost me $83.50 I probably couldn't really afford. ::shudders:: Still, anything to preserve what little sanity I have left. ;) New Cricket phone is supposed to be here either tomorrow or Thursday. Won't be here until it comes (via FedEx) as I don't want to miss it. Hopefully I'll be able to get back here no later than Friday. Been listening to country/western music and got the weirdest ideas for Sara (my kitten pooka) stories. Potential titles are Lip Synch, Midnight Crazies, and Four Left Feet. Also been writing out ideas for my stories. Damn I miss my notes on my PC. ::sighs:: Got food, got kitty food. Need litter, though, before too much longer. ::chuckles:: Brats are spoiled, that's for sure! I'm gonna head back home, grab a nap, then a shower, then eat. Heat's been on all last night. Might even be warm when I get home. ::hopes:: Current Mood:  Lake Effect Cold! |

I make enough money at the restuarant to work part-time and still cover my expenses. Should I find another job that has full-time hours for me, or volunteer or something...? Maybe I'll start a comic project like the good old Gorillaz days. Semi-boyfriend thinks I should just sleep in and play games for 8 months since I'll have to deal with law school for 3 years after that. It's tempting. >_> Current Mood:  tired |

I'm logged on and no one has called yet Except the fridge part people who sounded confused when I answered the phone "Acclaimed Legendary Psychics" LOL can't wait for a telemarketer to call. LOL Jackson Hewitt should be calling any day now with a schedule for them. |

I really have no opinions either way on 2009. Like any and every year, both good and bad things happened to me and those around me and even those not around me. People lived, died, and did all in between. Mistakes were made, opinions were coined, and important events happened. The world turned, stars burned, and comets streaked by in space. In other words, it was just another year. I'm sure there's people who wish that it hadn't happened at all, and there's people who might view it as the best of their lives, and then there's those like me, who probably just view it as 'just another year', with all that that entails. Happy New Year! Belated and otherwise
The new DVD drive went in real slick. DOS recognized it and everything. Unfortunately, the recovery disc is NOT recognized. Which is funny as it worked several times before. ::shakes head:: It's cold. Monday I got "lost" in the lake effect storm that hit Buffalo on the way home from the library. Talk about white conditions! Not only that, I had to play tag with the cars as the only place clear enough for me and my walker were the streets! ::shudders:: Took some of the PC sock money and got me some WARM winter boots and pants. I needed them. Summer pants and longjohns simply aren't warm enough for me anymore. ::sighs:: So this pushes the PC back to about May or June. Which is gonna make catching up on some online comics and Lolcats a lengthy process as there simply isn't enough time to get to them n the time allotted by the library. Oh well. At least the catching up will keep me out of trouble. ::snickers:: Been going through books like crazy and also got caught up on several crocheting projects. Next up is the knitting ones. And I gotta go. ::sighs:: I miss being able to READ posts and make longer ones. Current Mood: cold |

Fate And/Or Destiny
I saw this wonderful Nike commercial last night during the basketball game on TV (the Raptors won, yay!) It featured a few athletes saying how "destiny" didn't wake up at 3 AM to get to the hockey rink to practice, "destiny" didn't stop the puck from going into the net, "destiny" didn't practice gymnastics six hours every day, "destiny" is not equivalent to skill during the game, and so on, the overwhelming theme being that we make our own fates and that there's no such thing as a pre-ordained event. I, for one, can stand completely behind that commercial. For better or worse, we manufacture our own futures, and though a good amount of life is completely uncontrollable, I think what little we can affect, we should take responsibility for instead of passing the buck when things get tough. In that vein, I wish you all the best future that you can possibly make for yourself in 2010 and beyond, wherever your path in life is leading you. Remember that though times may be hard, there is always a way out, though it may not immediately be obvious. Life is tough, but you're tougher. Keep plowing on and you'll find your way eventually. And since I probably won't be online tomorrow, I'll say it today: Happy New Year! Current Mood:  cheerful |

I just repeated myself on the phone three times before I got my brain out of the rut. Then again, the user was perhaps not as informed as she should be on how things work here. Gah. Once you are tagged you must post this in your journal and list 6 of your weirdest habits/tendencies/facts about you. They can be serious, silly, ridiculous - whatever! Then tag six more people at the end.Ooh, okay, fine. Hmm. 1) I brush my teeth in the shower. I never knew it was weird until someone informed me it was, l-lol. 2) My favorite kind of cookies are sugar cookies. With nothing on them. Not even sugar on the top, which is what people usually do as if in apology for not adding anything else to them. Just plain, white cookies. 3) I'm really out of shape, but I get the feeling I have the potential to be a very good athlete. The exercisers in my family have high endurance and love to swim, run, etc. The problem is that exercising is so boring, so lacking in mental stimulation, that it's hard to get me to do it on a consistent basis. If only I could game while on a treadmill or something. 4) As a little kid, growing up, I secretly wished my parents would get divorced. I would have friends whose parents were separated and feel jealous of them. The way they were with each other bordered on emotional abuse, which of course effected me and my siblings. Sometimes staying together "for the sake of your kids" IS the worser choice for your kids. 5) When I'm thinking about something and I get excited about it, I stand up and start pacing/jumping around my room without even thinking. Yes, this is actually true. WHAT THE HELL, SELF. Then someone walks in and looks at me like I'm completely crazy, and I feel like a jackass. xD 6) I love big, scary-looking but secretly cuddly things. Or at least they're cuddly in my mind. Pit bulls, rats, sharks, Jamie from Mythbusters (I WANT TO HUG HIM HE LOOKS LIKE A WALRUS), my boyfriend who's super hairy heehee, Raphael from TMNT, Barret from FF7, etc etc. Am I supposed to tag people? Nah. I think most of my friends who'd do this have been tagged and done it already anyway. xD; |

Well, Part whatever...
The new DVD didn't work for me. I mean, it works but what's left of the system is NOT accepting the Recovery DVD as valid. ::sighs:: I'm going to send my tower to #2 son to see if he can fix it. He can use the lab at his school and even get some hand's on credit for it. If it can't be fixed, he's going to see if he can copy my HD info (My Documents, etc) onto DVDs for me. It's cold, windy, and snowing. Not sure if I'm going to be able to make another trip down here this week or not. Depends on the weather. Other than going stir crazy, I'm doing fine. All my music, except for what few actual CDs I have, is on my external. ::chuckles:: Cold weather aches and pains, but that's normal for this time of year. Pain
Woke up this morning with a brutal sinus headache...might even be a migraine. Ugh. Of all the worst things to wake up with, never mind that my sinuses are already clogged because of evil cat allergies. Le sigh. Hopefully someone will wake up soon so they can tell me where the Tylenol is. But YAY family! Fwee. I love seeing everybody. This has been a pretty damn awesome Christmas indeed. Goodies!
I won't list off my Christmas haul yet, because it's likely not over. But Boxing Day sales have reaped me a 1 TB external hard drive, a Blu-Ray player, a super pair of jeans, and some undies and socks. Mmmmmm. Technology. In other news, I won't be buying anything else for...the rest of my life, probably. Awesome. Current Mood: pleased |
